Our loveable but slightly nervous rescue cat, Moli, normally appears anxious after we’ve been away. But after a ten-night stay at Fronfelen she was purry and totally relaxed😻Chelsea and Ash clearly took very good care of her… In fact, I think they may have spoiled her a little as she now turns her nose up at her usual own-brand treats and will only have Dreamies 😂😹 Seriously though, I’m so glad we found Fronfelen – now we can go away knowing that Moli will be happy. We found Fronfelen Cattery a great place to house our two Birman cats during our week’s holiday.
Chelsea & Ash sent us some photos of them settling into they new surroundings and they were very amenable to their specific eating habits too. The rate for “pairs” was most acceptable and the huts contained a secluded heated space plus scratch pole and we bought their own beds too.
The cattery is situated in a lovely valley with lots of birds for them to look at. We will definitely be using Fronfelen again for the next time that we go away. – Ian Taylor, September 2023

Fonfelen Cattery is set in a beautiful valley in the Ceredigion countryside. The owners Chelsea and Ash are very friendly and have created a lovely ‘home from home’ for their feline guests. We were concerned about putting our rescue kitty Oreo into a cattery as she can get anxious but we need not have worried. Chelsea and Ash were so understanding and put our minds at rest immediately. We booked Fronfelen cattery on the basis of its excellent reviews. We’ve never been to a cattery before and was unsure of what to expect. Our 16 month old male, Twm stayed for 4 nights. Chelsea and Ash were lovely and it was evident of their professionalism and love of cats. The pens were clean with bed, chair, blankets, toys and scratchpost. There is even heating for the colder nights. We were a little concerned about the extreme hot weather, but had nothing to worry about as there were several fans on the go to keep the cats cool. What a local gem we have with Fronfelen Cattery on our doorstep! We have 5 cats that have never left home before, so leading up to them going into a cattery for the first time was quite a stressful time (for us as well as for them). We collected them on the morning of the 6th day following our trip and within a matter of hours, their routine was back to normal, not sure why we were so concerned leaving them now, but this was all down to the excellent care shown and given by the owners Chelsea and Ash, they didn’t just put the cats at ease, they gave us total confidence that they would all be treated very well. Can’t recommend them highly enough, a great couple, a fantastic and quiet venue, we will be using them again for sure.

The set-up in the cattery was excellent and our cats could not have been in a better place. It was very clean and well organised.The other cats looked well and comfortable. Chelsea and Ash were wonderful. We had to book our quite high-strung cat in at short notice and they were wonderfully efficient and friendly. The collection and return worked like clockwork, and we felt a great sense of calm while we were away, knowing that Cinder was in good hands. Harry, our little 6 month old ginger Tom had never been to a Cattery before and initially we were a bit nervous about leaving him. However, Chelsea and Ash couldn’t have been more caring or understanding. They obviously adore cats and make them all feel so welcome. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. They made him so welcome, it was like taking him to a 5* hotel! He LOVED his stay with them. They even go and sit with their ‘guests’ and chat to them, just to make them feel at home! 🥰What luxury! We recently placed our 2 cats at Fronfelen cattery. Chelsea and Ash were fantastic taking time with us before hand to understand our cats individual habits and needs. Our older cat needs daily medication and that was no problem. The pens were very clean and had a range of perches to suit all discerning cats. When collecting our cats it was clear Chelsea and Ash had spent time getting to know both cats during their stay. Dear human parents (who are also my staff), For once you have chosen well. As hotels go this gets 4 and a half stars. I would give it 5 but they won’t let me actually catch all those birds that raid those dangly feeder things someone hung on the other side of the window. Feathered distractions aside, my new parents are purrfect. You could learn a lot. Nothing is too much trouble to them (and I have rigorously verified this fact). Our previous cattery had closed so I had to look for another, Chelsea encouraged me to visit their cattery before booking, and what can I say, it was more like a cat hotel. Each of the bungalows was so well equipped, clean, warm and with beautiful views. I had no hesitation in booking in Rocky and Fudge. Unfortunately the week of their visit Fudge decided to protect her home territory and ended up with a visit to the vets. I contacted Chelsea to see if they would still be able to look after both Rocky and Fudge, and to my relief they would. She was so well looked after on their visit, I couldn’t have asked for more. As it was our first time leaving Jelly Bean we were a bit nervous but we needn’t have been. Chelsea and Ash were fantastic. They gave us a tour of the cattery, which is exemplary, told us the history of Fronfelon, and put our minds at ease. The pods are amazing! Each pod is a good size looking out towards beautiful countryside. Well furnished with a chair, rug and cat tree in the main area Jelly Bean felt right at home straight away. At the rear of the pod is a bedroom with radiator, shelf and a cat envelope to keep him toasty and warm. At £10 a day (£5 for half days) this luxurious cattery is not expensive. Ash and Chelsea are very kind and even sent us pictures to reassure us that Jelly Bean was happy and well. I would recommend Fronfelon to anyone. Fabulous! Our usual Cattery was temporarily closed at the time we needed to go away so we were a bit stuck, Fronfelen was a wonderful find. Lovely spacious enclosures with a cosy warm sleeping space at the back, fluffy platforms at different heights to sit on with a gorgeous view of the garden and bird life. Ash and Chelsea are just great, they obviously love and understand cats very well, our cat was totally happy here and very relaxed when we picked her up. I whole heartedly recommend Fronfelen especially for people who are a bit worried about leaving their cat in a cattery, updates and photos are on offer to reassure you that all’s well while you’re away. ” Fronfelen is a beautiful cattery with caring owners who obviously love the cats in their care. The cattery chalets are spotlessly clean and spacious and overlook the Welsh countryside. They are light and airy but also have ‘cwtchy’ private spaces at the back, complete with heaters. All the chalets have climbing areas for playtime and comfy seats and blankets for garden viewing and snoozing. Out little Zoë looked alert and happy when we collected her after her 2 week stay with you. “Outstanding care given to our pws by Ash & Chelsea recently when she stayed @ Fronfelen for 10 days. Pws had recently had an abscess to her leg – this was not a problem and both reassured us that they could care for her and gave her her meds also. They had thoughtfully placed steps in the room in order that pws wouldn’t need to jump up or down and hurt herself. “We booked our cat Kitty in for three nights over Christmas 2018. This is one of the BEST cattery’s around. It is owned and managed by cat lovers and that really showed. The cat accommodation had lots of toys to amuse her as well as comfortable cosy areas and a separate heated bed area. It is a purpose built, state-of-the-art cattery and it really was like a home from home for our pet. We went on our Christmas break feeling really confident that Kitty would be comfortable and well cared for. The owners Ash & Chelsea took really good care of Kitty and had remembered all the individual information on my cat’s preferences and diet etc. Kitty’s suite was set up with her individual needs in mind.
