Vaccination requirements

All cats must have an up to date vaccination certificate against feline flu and enteritis valid for the duration of their stay at Fronfelen Cattery. Your cat’s vaccination certificate must be presented prior to boarding and your cat will not be accepted for boarding without it. The vaccination certificate will be held at Fronfelen Cattery throughout the duration of your cats stay. If your cat will require booster vaccinations during the period of their stay with us, please inform us at the time of booking, so that we can discuss and agree suitable arrangements. Primary vaccination must not have been administered any less than ten days prior to boarding. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Only vaccinated kittens can be accepted.

Fleas and worms

All cats that come to Fronfelen Cattery must be treated against fleas and worms before arrival for their stay. We reserve the right to apply flea and/or worm treatment to any resident cat found to have flea and/or worm infestation during their stay. The cost of treatment will be charged to the owner. Please note that flea collars are not considered adequate protection.

Male cats

Any male cat over the age of nine months will only be accepted for boarding if they are neutered.

Fresh water is available at all times. Please discuss your cat’s food requirements at the time of booking. We can provide a wide variety of dry and wet food, but do not hold supplies of every brand and type. Prescription diets need to be provided by the owner. Whilst we will use all reasonable endeavours to feed as instructed by the owner, alternative diets and brands may be fed if the cat is not eating its usual diet.

Grooming will be carried out as necessary. It is appreciated if owners can bring their own grooming equipment for their cat.

We are happy to administer medication, including injections, which have been prescribed by a vet, provided full and clear instructions are left by the owner. Please let us know at the time of booking if your cat will require medication during their stay.

Illness and vet treatment

We reserve the right to refuse admission to any cat showing any signs of ill health pending advice from our veterinary surgeon. Veterinary services will be arranged, should this be necessary during your cat’s stay. Any veterinary treatment will be at the owner’s expense. Fronfelen Cattery reserves the right to contact the owner’s veterinary surgeon to discuss any past or current medical problems in the event of illness or injury. In the event of illness or injury, we will make reasonable endeavours to contact the owner or the owner’s representative prior to any treatment deemed necessary by a veterinary surgeon taking place. If contact is not possible, treatment will take place without the owner’s explicit consent. In exceptional emergency circumstances, treatment may be given by a veterinary surgeon before contact can be made with the owner.

Whilst every care and precaution is taken to safeguard the health and well-being of all cats, they are boarded entirely at the owner’s own risk. If any cat is not collected within 14 days of the stated departure date and no communication received either from the owner or their representative, we reserve the right to re-home the cat.
